Job summary

Southeast Medical Group is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team in Woodstock, GA. You will perform venipuncture and capillary collections, ensuring sample integrity and patient comfort while following protocols and HIPAA requirements.

You will label, process, and transport specimens, enter data into the EHR, collaborate with nurses and physicians, and participate in QA activities. The ideal candidate has a phlebotomy certification, 1 year of experience, and strong knowledge

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; accredited phlebotomy program preferred.
• Certification as Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience in clinical or hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, venipuncture techniques, and infection control.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all ages, following established protocols.
• Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and obtain informed consent.
• Label, process, and transport specimens to the lab with accurate chain-of-custody documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and proper disposal of biohazardous waste.
• Assist with phlebotomy supplies and equipment inventory management.
• Enter patient data and test requests into the EHR with high accuracy.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and lab staff to ensure seamless patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, proficiency testing, and equipment calibration.
• Adhere to all policies including HIPAA and safety guidelines.
