Job summary

Pride Health is seeking a Phlebotomist - Lab to support our client’s healthcare team in Sandy Springs, GA. The role is a local contract position with a 14-week duration, working 8:30am to 5:30pm on-site in Sandy Springs (30328).

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, labeling, and ensuring accuracy of patient information and orders. Prior phlebotomy experience and strong customer service skills are required, with data entry capabilities beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures.
• Verify patient information, physician orders, requisitions, and specimen labels for accuracy.
• Explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients.
• Maintain specimen integrity by following proper storage, temperature, transportation, and handling protocols.
• Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, recordkeeping, and patient information updates.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete required annual department training.
• Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as appropriate.
