Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories in Santa Fe, NM seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist (PRN) to join our laboratory team. The role requires independent work, careful patient interaction, and adherence to confidentiality.

Successful candidates may start at CLA levels with advancement based on modalities completed and department needs. Candidates with HS diploma and phlebotomy interest are encouraged to apply; immunization requirements apply.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program.
• Immunization against Hepatitis B or willingness to sign a waiver.
• Authorized to work in a health care facility per NM regulations.
• Valid driver's license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for department functions.
• Demonstrate professional judgment when dealing with clients and staff.
• Communicate effectively by phone and in-person with patients and providers.
• Participate in on-call coverage and after-hours duties as required.
• Handle basic clerical tasks and document communications accurately.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
• Perform specimen collection and processing activities per modality requirements.
• Support department training and competency assessments.
• Assist with special collections and external shipping certifications.
