Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist at Rust Hospital in New Mexico. This hourly position requires independent work with on-call and rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.

You will perform phlebotomy and related modalities, ensuring timely specimen collection and patient care. Candidates should have a high school diploma; ASCP PBT or equivalent certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent required.
• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant program desired.
• Immunization to Hepatitis B or waiver/ documentation required.
• Eligible to work in healthcare facility per applicable law.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory necessary to perform departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibits basic problem solving skills to ensure patient care service levels.
• Responsible for hospital communication responsibilities including on-call duties.
• Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
• Participates in on-call coverage and holiday/weekend rotations.
• Basic PC skills required.
