Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification required where employed.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a lab or hospital.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Experience performing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and updating patient information.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings and respond to inquiries.
