True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in the Austin, TX area with float responsibilities across locations. Schedule is M-F, 8am–5pm, with potential for additional daytime hours.

The position lasts about 3 months with potential to become permanent. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and proper documentation, with mileage expenses paid and a clean driving record required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed is required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Experience performing blood draws, labeling, centrifugation, and data maintenance.
• Collects and stores specimens according to procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique with needles.
• Match requisitions to specimens; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport; ensure correct labeling and temperature control.
• Adhere to OSHA/DEP regulations and participate in department trainings.
• Attend annual trainings and answer inquiries about lab results.
