Job summary

Eden Capital Careers is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in the Austin, TX area, with potential for permanent placement. The role involves floating to multiple Austin-area locations, collecting and labeling specimens, and ensuring specimen integrity.

Mileage is reimbursed, and a clean driving record is required. The ideal candidate has phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in fast-paced labs or hospitals, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Attend annual department trainings and updates.
• Answer telephone inquiries and relay laboratory results to satisfy questions.
