Barrette Workforce Solutions, LLC seeks a Phlebotomist for Austin, TX and surrounding areas. Position is a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement.

You will float to multiple sites in the Austin area, performing venipunctures, labeling, centrifuging, and specimen transport while ensuring safety and accuracy. The role requires a valid phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months of venipuncture in a fast-paced lab or hospital, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Valid state phlebotomy certification as required.
• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match lab requisitions to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store specimens correctly; comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
