Job description

Job Title and Location

Phlebotomist Float – West Taft Road, Liverpool, NY

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (varied), rotating Saturdays 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient data accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or ≥3 months experience as a phlebotomist.

Preferred Qualifications

• ≥1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Additional Job Standards

• Phlebotomy certification must be from an accredited agency if not derived from work experience.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Pay and Incentives

Pay Range: $17.75 – $20.00 per hour.

Float Incentive: Additional $1.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.
