Job summary

LCA Lab. Corp. of America in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collections, manage specimen information, and provide exceptional customer service. Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other requested specimens.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Complete administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or three months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• At least 21 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year or more of phlebotomy experience.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
• Travel to additional sites as required.

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency may meet requirements.

Compensation and Incentives

Sign‑On Bonus: $1,500.00 (external applicants only)

Pay Range: $17.75 – $26.00 per hour (based on skills, experience, and market data)

Float Incentive: Additional $1.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits. Employees working less than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.
