Job summary

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking a Philanthropy Intern for the 2027 Spring Internship class. The intern will join the US Philanthropy team, connecting generous donors with IJM’s programs and inviting deeper engagement. Expect 30–40 hours per week with a monthly stipend.

The internship runs January 11 – April 9, 2027. In the Washington, DC area, it can be fully in-person or hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) or remote for non-local candidates, and reports to the Administrator,

Qualifications

  • Prospective interns should have completed at least two years of undergraduate study by the start of their internship.
  • At least one prior professional internship or significant leadership experience in extracurricular, campus, volunteer, or community-based organizations.
  • Ability to commit to a schedule of 20, 30, or 40 hours per week during standard business hours.
  • Experience in project management and event planning.
  • Experience and interest in fundraising.
  • Experience in database management.

Responsibilities

  • Support project coordination and logistics for philanthropy initiatives.
  • Assist in fundraising campaign planning and donor outreach.
  • Maintain and manage the databases used by the philanthropy team.
  • Support events and logistics planning for campaigns and activities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the philanthropy department.
