Qualifications

  • 2 years of philanthropy experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Healthcare fundraising experience preferred.
  • Experience with Blackbaud or other CRM systems.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Senior Director of Philanthropy in daily duties.
  • Processes donations and prepares acknowledgement letters.
  • Maintains donor database records and generates monthly reports.
  • Drafts donor correspondence and letters of intent.
  • Documents procedures for donations processing and philanthropy operations.
  • Plans and executes major fundraising events; manages day-of logistics.
  • Maintains guest lists and prepares registration materials.
  • Identifies and researches potential donors; supports cultivation and solicitation.
  • Builds relationships with Shrine Temples and local groups for support.
  • Manages inventory, procurement, and office supplies within budget.

Please click here to learn more about our locations.Job DescriptionShriners Children's Ohio is seeking candidates for a PRN Philanthropy Assistant to join our Philanthropy team.The Philanthropy Assistant will collaborate with the Philanthropy team in planning and executing special events, donor cultivation events, stewardship programs, and other engagement activities, as well as administrative operations including in-kind donations, donor acknowledgment, and donor database management. The role will support the stewardship of donors and key relationships, build awareness, and increase engagement. This position reports to the Senior Director of Philanthropy.Key Responsibilities:Provides support to the Senior Director of Philanthropy in the fulfillment of departmental dutiesProcesses donations and prepares acknowledgment letters and other donor correspondenceTracks, updates, and maintains all prospective and current donor activities in the appropriate donor database systemCreates monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as neededDrafts donor correspondence and prepares letters of acknowledgment for all donations, pledges, and letters of intentDocuments standard procedures and guidelines as required for donations processing and other Philanthropy Office procedures to ensure consistencySupports the planning and execution of major fundraising eventsServes as main “day of” logistics orchestrator and troubleshooter; facilitates post-event follow up activities; and conducts post-event appraisals to determine successMaintains guest lists, gathers and prepares registration materials, and other duties as assignedGains proficiency in event management tools such as Classy Live, serving as staff lead for that toolAssists philanthropy team members with individual donor prospect identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. This includes developing stewardship relationships with select donors and volunteers.Assists the team in maintaining cooperative relationships with affiliated Shrine Temples, Shrine Clubs, and local community support groups (3rd party events) for philanthropic supportCreates and maintains confidential donor prospect recordsEnsures availability of all forms, resource materials and office supplies through regular inventory and procures items needed within purchasing and departmental budget guidelinesAssists with expense reporting; travel and meeting coordination; calendar management, and file maintenanceSupports departmental meetings through date and location scheduling: communication; attendance tracking; agenda and material and presentation preparation; logistics coordination; meeting minutes recording and distribution, and follow up activitiesRequired Qualifications:2 years of Philanthropy experiencePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in related fieldHealthcare fundraising experienceExperience with Blackbaud or other CRM systemsCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
