A leading nonprofit organization seeks a Philanthropic Engagement Director to enhance its donor communications and engagement efforts. This full-time role involves managing investor relationships, organizing stewardship events, and crafting compelling messaging to secure new donor support and maintain existing investments.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Philanthropic Engagement Director reports to the Chief Investor Relations Officer and works with Come Near’s Marketing and Communications team as needed to plan and implement external-facing philanthropic communications and stewardship events that generate financial support, maintain existing investments, recapture lapsed investments, prospect for new donors, cultivate high-level investors, and enhance overall giving to Come Near.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with the Investments Coordinator to create and manage the annual plan and schedule for related communications.
Provides input regarding development of investor-related communications, messages, and methods. In conjunction with the Marketing and Communications Team, writes and finalizes investor-facing copy.
Works with the Director of Investments and the Marketing and Communications Team to ensure quality control for all investor-facing communications and to create methods of tracking effectiveness of campaigns.
Coordinates boutique bespoke events and investor conferences that steward donors and creates opportunities for investment in Come Near’s mission.
Prepares mailing lists for investor relations and communications appeals and newsletters at the direction of portfolio holders. Coordinates and monitors criteria for solicitations and newsletters.
Assists with the coordination of annual appeals. Refines mailing list and e-mail list to reflect potential donor base. Collaborates with the Marketing and Communications Team to gain design approval and manages print and mail process.
Works with the Investments Coordinator, Communications and Marketing Team, and Web Strategist to create and manage electronic giving opportunities and communication campaigns
Provides input regarding development of philanthropy messages and methods. In conjunction with Marketing and Communications Team, writes and finalizes copy for electronic communications using standard review and approval process.
Assists to ensure quality control for philanthropic electronic communications.
Prepares response analyses by appeal and list and determine recommendations for future communications. Prepares and distributes monthly appeals and list analysis reports measuring response rate, average gift and cost per dollar raised.
Attend team and organizational meetings, activities, and events as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful digital and direct marketing strategies.
Ability to collect, organize and analyze data related to donor giving.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, donor-facing messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
Strong understanding of web and graphic design, donor database management, data analysis, and segmentation strategies.
Proficiency in graphic design and familiarity with Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Creative, self-starter, who can work independently and across departments, while meeting deadlines.
