Job description

Guided by the Chief Executive Officer, the Philanthropic Engagement Director is responsible for:

Strategic fundraising activities that advance the mission/vision of Forum to Advance Minorities in Engineering Inc (FAME Inc.).

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Strategic/Comprehensive resource development plan(s)

    • Direct FAME Inc. advancement activities
    • Develop and implement comprehensive plans
    • Develop and communicate policy, ethics, and vital philanthropic engagement information to staff/board
    • Report and discuss strategic plans with CEO and management regularly
    • Evaluate and manage donor, partner, and stakeholder communication/recognition
    • Recommend policies, procedures, and guidelines for gift receipt (cash, stock, real estate, etc.)
  2. Grants Management/Tracking

    • Research, evaluate, and lead grant opportunities aligned with FAME's goals
    • Maintain an updated grants calendar
    • Ensure timely application, reporting, and approval for funding
    • Maintain necessary approvals and standards for compliance
  3. Individual Giving

    • Plan and implement campaigns for individuals/alumni
    • Work with CEO to set campaign goals
    • Partner with program staff on campaign messaging
    • Utilize technology for campaign success
    • Maintain accurate database information
    • Manage staff or volunteers for mailings and projects
  4. Investor Relations and Communications

    • Coordinate meetings with investors, partners, and stakeholders
    • Attend public presentations and demonstrations
    • Lead internal and external advancement events
    • Represent FAME at trade shows, fairs, and partner sites
  5. Administrative

    • Build relationships with partners
    • Provide budget forecasts and monitor expenditures
    • Coordinate evaluation and impact assessment
    • Manage donor records in the database
    • Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree with strong writing skills
  • 3-5 years in fund development or related field with proven relationship-building
  • Experience in staff management and supervision preferred
  • Leadership, motivation, and networking skills
  • Organized, multi-tasker
  • Knowledge of STEM and Delaware Education System
  • Team-oriented and personable
  • Social media and digital fundraising savvy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and desktop publishing
