Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize all requests with attention to the nature of the request, while ensuring requisite documentation has been provided with appropriate authorization secured and all regulatory requirements and timeframes met
• Self-starter with ownership and ability to work independently
• Excellent administrative telephone skills
• Ability to clearly, accurately and professionally present and explain complex information
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Admissions processing and release of information for internal/external requestors
• Outstanding oral and written communication with all stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment
• Experience with HIPAA compliance and safeguarding patient records

Responsibilities

• Coordinate release of PHI for paper or electronic media per HIPAA and regulations
• Prepare correspondence and medical records for release of patient information
• Complete certifications and documents for court or legal purposes
• Process admissions processing and release of information requests for internal/external requestors
• Provide telephone coverage and respond to inquiries from patients, attorneys, and departments
