Job summary

CSL in Jackson, MI is seeking apheresis support staff to prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for pheresis and to monitor the donor during the process. You will also prepare the autopheresis machine and respond to alarms as they arise.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, safe work environment, recording incidents in the PDA, and ensuring accurate donor data entry in the electronic donor information system. Cross-training and bilingual abilities may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any reaction donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notify staff.
• Record incidents and donor data using the PDA and link equipment to the donor.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure sufficient operating supplies.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
