Job summary

CSL Vifor in Brownsville, TX seeks a Pheresis Technician to prepare the donor, donor area, and equipment for thepheresis process, while monitoring the donor and the machine throughout. You will respond to alarms and ensure donor safety and accurate data capture in the system.

The role requires basic math, attention to safety, and adherence to SOPs with potential cross-training in other areas. This position emphasizes confidentiality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents and machine alerts using the PDA; link equipment to donors in the system.
• Link equipment and consumables used to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate donor data is recorded in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies related to hyper immune programs; maintain safety and confidentiality; may be cross-trained in other areas.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet business needs.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
