Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking apheresis support staff in Brownsville, TX, to prepare donors, equipment, and the pheresis process. You will monitor the donor, respond to alarms, and complete post-procedure steps with careful data recording using a PDA.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and at least three months in a medical or health provider setting, plus basic math skills. Bilingual abilities may be required, and adherence to HSE/OSHA policies is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process; respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to reactions during/after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents and donor data using the PDA, including alarms and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies to the appropriate donor using the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center, if applicable.
• Maintain clean work environment and adequate supplies; follow HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas; bilingual skills may be required.
