Job summary

CSL Vifor in Largo, FL is seeking a Pheresis Donor Technician to prepare donors, equipment and the pheresis setup, ensuring patient safety and protocol adherence.

You will monitor the donor and process, respond to alarms, record events in the PDA, and keep accurate donor data per SOPs.

The role may involve cross-training, maintaining a clean work area, and upholding HSE/OSHA policies while safeguarding donor confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 months of work experience in medical/health setting preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during/after pheresis and notify staff.
• Record incidents using PDA, including machine alerts and donor events.
• Link equipment and consumables used to the donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor to donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE/OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at organization discretion.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
