Job summary

CSL Vifor in Fort Wayne, IN seeks apheresis technicians to support donor pheresis procedures. You will prepare the donor area and equipment, monitor procedures, and respond to alarms to ensure donor safety and process integrity.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 3 months’ health-care experience, basic math, and bilingual abilities preferred. The role involves rotating shifts including early mornings and evenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents using PDA and link equipment to the donor in the system.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
