Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a donor pheresis support role to prepare donors and equipment for the pheresis process, monitor the procedure, and ensure accurate data entry in the donor information system. You will operate the autopheresis machine, respond to alarms, and maintain safety protocols.

The role requires basic math skills, a high school diploma, and 3 months of relevant experience. Cross-training and bilingual abilities may be needed depending on center requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three months' work experience, preferably in a medical or health provider environment, or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Use a PDA to record incidents during pheresis (machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, donor adverse events).
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the donor in the PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure adequate supplies. Follow HSE and OSHA policies. Maintain confidentiality of donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required at the organization's discretion.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
