Job summary

CSL Vifor in Michigan is seeking a phlebotomy/apheresis support technician to prepare donors and equipment for the pheresis process. You will set up the autopheresis machine, monitor the donor and process, respond to alarms, and disconnect the donor on completion.

You will also record incidents using the PDA, maintain donor data in the electronic system per SOPs, and ensure a clean, safe work environment while following HSE and OSHA policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three months' work experience in a medical or health provider environment preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain awareness of donor reactions during or after pheresis and notify appropriate staff.
• Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis and to link equipment to donors.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Maintain clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the organization’s discretion.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
