Job summary

CSL Vifor is seeking a Pheresis Technician to prepare donor areas, assist with the pheresis machine, and monitor donors throughout the process in our Springfield, IL center.

You will document incidents in the electronic donor information system, maintain supply levels, follow HSE/OSHA policies, and ensure donor data confidentiality. Experience in medical settings and basic math skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three months’ work experience in a medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to any donor reactions during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and donor events.
• Links equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor in the system.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as per SOPs.
• Understands policies for hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintains clean, efficient work environment and ensures supplies are available; follows HSE and OSHA policies and promotes safety.
• Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the organization’s discretion.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
