Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a Pheresis Technician in Smyrna, GA to prepare donors and equipment for pheresis, monitor the procedure, and respond to alarms. You will document incidents in the PDA and link equipment to the correct donor in the information system.

Maintain donor confidentiality and follow SOPs, HSE/OSHA policies, and safety standards. Requires a high school diploma and at least 3 months of health-care related experience; cross-training and bilingual skills may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to alarms or signals.
• Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintains alertness to any reaction and notifies appropriate staff.
• Uses PDA to record incidents such as machine alerts and donor events.
• Links equipment and supplies used to the appropriate donor in the system.
• Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensures accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system per SOPs.
• Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas as needed.
• Bilingual skills may be required by the organization.
