Job summary

CSL Vifor in Smyrna, GA is seeking a phlebotomy-pheresis support technician to assist with donor collection processes, equipment setup, and safety monitoring.

You will prepare donor area, machine, and supplies, monitor the procedure, respond to alarms, and document events using the PDA, while maintaining data integrity and adhering to SOPs.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 3 months' prior health-care experience; bilingual ability may be required; cross-training is possible.

Responsibilities

• Prepare donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare autopheresis machine for pheresis.
• Monitor donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reaction during or after pheresis and notify appropriate staff.
• Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis, such as alarms and donor events.
• Link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the donor in PDA.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies and procedures related to hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.
• Maintain clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available; follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
• Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet the needs of the business.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
