Job summary

CSL in Port Saint Lucie, FL is seeking a pheresis technician to prepare donors, equipment, and the donor area for pheresis procedures. The role includes setting up the autopheresis machine, monitoring during the procedure, and safely disconnecting the donor upon completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms or signals during the process.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to any donor reaction during or after the pheresis process and notify staff.
• Use PDA to record incidents during pheresis (machine alerts, alarms, volume variances, donor adverse events).
• Link equipment and supplies used in the pheresis process to the donor in the PDA system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Comply with HSE and OSHA policies; promote safety in all actions.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• Cross-training in other areas may be required.
• Bilingual skills may be required as needed.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
