Pheresis Donor Care Technician

Job summary

CSL is seeking a dedicated professional to support pheresis procedures. You will prepare donors and equipment, monitor processes, and respond to alarms while recording incidents in the PDA and linking materials to each donor.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three months of related experience, and basic math skills. Training will cover safety, data entry, and procedures to ensure donor well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months’ work experience in medical/health provider environment or equivalent.
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and pheresis process; respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain awareness of donor reactions during/after pheresis and notify staff as needed.
• Record incidents during pheresis using PDA, including machine alerts and donor events.
• Link equipment and supplies used in the procedure to the donor in the system.
• Escalate donor flow issues to Group Leader or Supervisor.
• Ensure accurate donor data entry in the electronic donor information management system.
