Job summary

CSL Vifor in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Donor Pheresis Technician to prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process and prime the autopheresis machine for the procedure.

You will monitor the donor and the pheresis process, respond to alarms, document incidents in the PDA, and maintain accurate donor data in the information management system while ensuring a safe and confidential environment. Cross-training and bilingual skills may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 3 months’ work experience, preferably in medical or health provider setting.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare donor, donor area and equipment for pheresis.
• Prepare autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor donor and pheresis process; respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify staff.
• Record incidents and donor data in the PDA.
• Link equipment and supplies to the donor in the system.
• Alert supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording in the donor information management system.
• Understand policies for hyper immune programs, if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment; ensure supplies are available.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas.
• Bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform job-related duties as assigned.
