Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking a donor pheresis support associate in New Jersey. You will prepare the donor, area and equipment for pheresis, monitor the process and respond to alarms, while ensuring safety and accurate data recording per SOPs.

The role requires basic math, good communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with potential overtime. Bilingual skills may be needed at times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Will perform basic math calculations.
• Understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions.
• Understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
• Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
• Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time.
• Reach, bend, kneel and have high level of manual dexterity.
• Occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures and to blood borne pathogens.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
• Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis processors.
• Prepare the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.
• Monitor the donor and the pheresis process and respond to alarms or signals.
• Disconnect the donor when the process is complete.
• Maintain alertness to donor reactions and notify appropriate staff.
• Record incidents using the PDA and link equipment to the donor in the system.
• Alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
• Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system per SOPs.
• Understand policies and procedures for hyper immune programs if applicable.
• Maintain a clean, efficient work environment and ensure supplies are available.
• Follow HSE and OSHA policies and promote safety in all actions.
• May be cross-trained in other areas to meet business needs.
