Qualifications

• Experience required: 0 to 6 months.
• Education required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification or licensing: Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy.
• Lifting requirement: Up to 25 pounds.
• Age requirement: At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion at all pharmacy entry points.
• Process orders in person and by phone; direct questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat, clean work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Assist team members to ensure the department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions, check inventory, and enter invoices.
• Assist with improving outcomes using service and business metrics.
• Complete required training and accompanying exams.
• Follow HIPAA, pseudoephedrine, and all applicable policies.
• Finalize sales using the point-of-sale system.
• Transcribe prescriptions accurately to generate patient labels.
• Maintain proper inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating drugs.
• Answer telephone politely and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Resolve customer questions by communicating with customers and staff.
• File written prescriptions daily.
