Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative pharmacy team.

You will support safe, accurate, and efficient patient care while developing skills under supervision and completing required training and exams. Responsibilities include processing orders, assisting with in-store and phone requests, and maintaining a neat work environment in compliance with policies and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Eligible to obtain registration as a pharmacy technician with the state board.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients with compassion and direct them to the pharmacist when needed.
• Process prescriptions and questions both in person and by phone to support patient care.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace in compliance with company and government policies.
• Assist team members to keep the pharmacy operations running smoothly.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions for drop-off, call‑back, or prescriptions, including inventory checks.
• Ensure accurate data entry and labeling for customer prescriptions.
• Support with inventory by stocking and rotating medications per policy.
• Adhere to HIPAA, pseudoephedrine rules, and all applicable laws and procedures.
• Handle cash register transactions according to established procedures.
• Complete required training programs and exams.

Education
