You will assist at multiple entry points, process prescriptions, and support the pharmacist while upholding regulatory standards. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, eligibility to obtain state registration, and the physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

• Experience required: 0 to 6 months.
• Certification or licensing required: Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy.
• Lifting requirement: Up to 25 pounds.
• Age requirement: At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion at all pharmacy entry points.
• Meet patient needs including processing orders in person and by phone, directing questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment to meet company and government requirements.
• Assist team members to ensure department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to process actions for drop-off, will-call, drive-thru, and order receiving; manage profiles, fill dates, cash prices, inventories.
• Assist in executing company initiatives and programs.
• Complete required training and exams.
• Follow policies, HIPAA, and regulation requirements.
• Finalize sales at point of sale per procedures.
• Transcribe data from prescriptions to generate customer labels.
• Maintain inventory by ordering, receiving, stocking and rotating drugs and supplies.
• Answer telephone politely and timely; ensure accurate information exchange and customer satisfaction.
• Resolve customer questions and concerns with effective communication.
• File written prescriptions daily.
• May perform medication cycle exchange and cart audits on-site for Long Term Care.
