Job summary

University of Iowa Health Care – North Liberty Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician, Trainee to join a full-time on-campus team. The role involves drug distribution, inventory control, and assisting pharmacists in outpatient and clinic settings.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, processing orders, preparing and labeling medications, and ensuring security and accuracy in sterile and non-sterile compounding, under supervision.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Pharmacy Board at the time of hire.
• All pharmacy technicians must be certified within one year of employment, unless trainee status extended by Board.
• High school diploma or the equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory in satellites and dispensing areas.
• Review inventory for expired medications.
• Prepare and deliver medications to patient care areas.
• Ensure medication security and proper storage.
• Handle controlled substances records and inventories.
• Assist with training of technicians and students.
• Support sterile compounding and aseptic technique.
