Job summary

University of Iowa Health Care – North Liberty Pharmacy is seeking a 100% Pharmacy Technician, Certified. Under general supervision, you will assist with drug distribution and control for outpatient and clinic dispensing.

The role may be filled as a Certified Technician or Technician Trainee based on qualifications, with focus on inventory maintenance, sterile compounding, and accurate medication preparation for patient care areas.

Qualifications

• PTCB or NHA certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of post-high school experience and/or education in natural sciences or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inventory maintenance in satellites and dispensing areas.
• Review inventory for expired medications.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas and retrieve unused meds.
• Maintain security and proper handling of controlled substances.
• Prepare and package medications using sterile and non-sterile techniques.
