Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care – North Liberty Campus is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Trainee at 100% time to support outpatient and clinic dispensing under supervision.

Responsibilities include inventory maintenance, order fulfillment, sterile compounding, and use of automated dispensing equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team are essential. Training and certification timelines apply.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Pharmacy Board at the time of hire.
• Certified within one year of employment, unless trainee status extended.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program.
• Ability to calculate ratios & proportions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory and review for expired medications.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas and manage security of medications.
• Operate automated dispensing equipment and labeling systems.
• Complete quality assurance records for sterile compounding.
• Assist in training pharmacy students and technicians.
• Perform narcotics and controlled substances inventories.
