Giant Eagle, Inc. seeks a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to join our collaborative pharmacy team.

You’ll support safe, accurate, and efficient patient care while building service‑oriented relationships with customers. Responsibilities include processing orders in person and by phone, directing questions to the pharmacist, maintaining a neat work environment, and assisting in inventory management and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Certification or Licensing Required: Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion at pharmacy entry points.
• Process orders in person and by phone, direct questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment in order to meet policies.
• Assist team members to ensure department runs efficiently.
• Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions: search for patients, determine dates of fill, quotes, inventory, invoices.
• Assist in executing company initiatives and programs.
• Complete required training and exams.
• Follow HIPAA and Pseudoephedrine sales regulations.
• Finalize sales using cash register and POS procedures.
• Transcribe prescriptions to generate labels for customers.
• Maintain inventory by ordering, receiving, stocking and rotating drugs and supplies.
• Answer telephone politely and accurately; ensure customer satisfaction.
• Resolve customer questions with management and staff.
• File written prescriptions daily.

Education
