Job summary

University of Wisconsin Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist to support pharmacists and clinic staff in the Medication Management Clinic. You will coordinate patient appointments, triage calls, and assist with medication access under established protocols.

The role offers a 100% FTE, day shift (Mon-Fri 8AM-4:30PM) with on-site work at the Administrative Office Building and the opportunity to work remotely.

Qualifications

• No minimum education required
• Preferred completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-faceted support to pharmacists and clinic staff within the UW Health Medication Management Clinic.
• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments while ensuring timely follow-up and continuity of care.
• Triage patient phone calls and respond to MyChart messages to support patient needs and elevate clinical concerns when appropriate.
• Assist patients with medication access by conducting benefit investigations, navigating insurance barriers, and authorizing refills under established protocols.

• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments while ensuring timely follow-up and continuity of care.

Qualifications

Work Experience

• 6 months experience as a pharmacy technician, completion of accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program, or completion of second year of pharmacy school. Required

Licenses & Certifications

• Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration Upon Hire Required
• Certified Pharmacy Technician Preferred
