Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. For PTCB-certified technicians, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians in operating pharmacy systems and cashiers in operating the pharmacy cash registers.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, complying with all relevant policies and codes of conduct.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and assisting with workflow management.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding dispensing activities.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Assist with clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Maintain good relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, stocked, and orderly.
• Follow all company policies and maintain respectful coworker relationships.
• Complete assigned tasks and special projects as required.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification. Certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
