Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties following company policies.
2. Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with coaching other pharmacy technicians and cashiers as applicable.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice, ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medications, and managing workflow as directed by the Pharmacy Manager or Staff Pharmacist.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies related to dispensing and quality improvement.
• Handle sales registration, cash handling, and customer assistance in locating products.
• Process claims for third-party prescription services and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management activities and maintain proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals.
• Assist in administering clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Follow all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete assigned tasks and special projects as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state certification requirements. Certification may be a condition for promotion.
• Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay informed about healthcare and pharmacy developments.
