Responsibilities

1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, company policies, and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and assist with pharmacy operations. If PTCB certified, support and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer service best practices, including interpersonal skills and Walgreens service traits, to deliver excellent service.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practices, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies on dispensing and error management.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
• Assist in clinical services, such as collecting and labeling samples, and coordinate with healthcare providers and clinics.
• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy environment.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the training program and/or state certification, with certification as a condition for promotion.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
