Job Description

Responsibilities include:

• In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assist in other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients, greet them, offer assistance, resolve issues, and answer questions.
• Share customer service best practices with team members to ensure a positive experience.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties like entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to quality policies.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims.
• Support inventory management activities and assist in clinical services as needed.
• Maintain the pharmacy environment, ensure supplies are stocked, and uphold company policies.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through designated training and/or state certification.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy practices.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months of retail experience preferred.
• Prior Walgreens experience preferred.
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Good computer skills and knowledge of store inventory control preferred.
• PTCB certification is a plus.
