Responsibilities include:

1. Assisting the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, and assisting in other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
2. Using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and, if PTCB certified, coaching other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy system and register operations.
3. Delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Greeting customers and patients, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions to ensure positive interactions.
• Sharing customer service best practices with team members to enhance service quality, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Developing strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assisting in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Performing duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and maintaining workflow as directed by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, or Store Manager.
• Reporting prescription errors immediately and adhering to quality and dispensing policies.
• Handling sales transactions, assisting customers in locating products, and processing third-party claims efficiently.
• Supporting inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and managing related claims.
• Supporting clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Building relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy environment.
• Following all company policies and completing assigned tasks.

Training & Personal Development

• Maintaining PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state certification, with promotion contingent upon certification where applicable.
• Attending required training and acquiring continuing education credits to stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
