Job Description

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations. Support other Pharmacy Department duties per company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in system operation.
• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients, greet them, offer assistance, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure positive experiences.
• Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug info, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and managing workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to quality policies.
• Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
• Support inventory management, clinical services, and maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment.
• Build relationships with healthcare providers and support clinical and outreach activities.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through designated training and/or state certification.
• Attend training sessions and acquire continuing education credits to stay updated in healthcare and pharmacy.

Qualifications

External Basic Qualifications

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months of retail experience preferred.
• Prior Walgreens experience preferred.
• Good math and computer skills preferred.
• Knowledge of store inventory control and PTCB certification preferred.
