Responsibilities include:

1. In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assist the pharmacist in the performance of other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach pharmacy technicians in operating pharmacy systems and cashiers in operating the pharmacy cash registers.
3. Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Customer Experience

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers.

Operations

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision by the pharmacist, in accordance with regulations and company policy. Review and comply with the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions. Assist in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
• Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policies during prescription activities.
• Register sales, handle cash, and assist customers in locating products.
• Handle non-urgent telephone calls, including those to physicians.
• Process manual claims for third-party prescription services and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and file claims for overages, shortages, or damages.
• Assist in administering clinical services, including sample collection and labeling, and coordinate clinical services with healthcare providers.
• Maintain good relationships with the medical community through outreach and detailing.
• Ensure the pharmacy is stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Follow all policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete assignments and other tasks as needed.

Training & Personal Development

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the training program and/or state certification. Certification is required for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training and acquire continuing education credits to stay current with healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
