Responsibilities
  1. Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, company policies, and procedures.
  2. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach other pharmacy technicians and cashiers in pharmacy systems and cash register operations.
  3. Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Customer Experience
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance. Resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Share customer service best practices with team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
  • Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
Operations
  • Assist in pharmacy practice under pharmacist supervision, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
  • Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policies regarding errors and quality improvement.
  • Handle sales transactions, assist customers in locating products, and process third-party claims efficiently.
  • Support inventory management activities, maintain knowledge of asset protection, and file claims for overages, shortages, or damages.
  • Assist in administering clinical services and coordinate with healthcare providers as needed.
  • Maintain the pharmacy environment, ensuring it is stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Follow all company policies, maintain respectful relationships, and complete assigned tasks.
Training & Personal Development
  • Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state certification/registration, necessary for promotion.
  • Attend training sessions, acquire continuing education credits, and stay updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.

Additional requirements include fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico), and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
