Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for per diem coverage at 300 Market St, Saddle Brook, NJ. You will support daily pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, preparing medications and delivering them to the appropriate patient areas while adhering to established policies.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, state registration or eligibility, and an active State Board of Pharmacy Registration Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Complete a variety of pharmacy tasks and services within established policies and guidelines.
• Work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and be able to work independently.
• Pick up drug orders and prepare medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Deliver medications to the appropriate patient areas and assist with billing and crediting of patient medications.
• Maintain drugs in the pharmacy per the Drug Formulary and manage paperwork.

• You will work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, and you are able to work independently. You will not provide direct care to patients.
• Picking up drug orders at the nursing station(s) and preparing medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift.
• Delivering the appropriate quantities of the medication to the correct patient area(s).
• Assisting with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
• Maintaining drugs in the pharmacy in accordance with the Drug Formulary, to include ordering, receiving, storing, and filling out all necessary paperwork.
• Monitoring doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign-out record.
• Maintaining all forms and reports necessary for the control of narcotics and other controlled substances.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• State registration or eligibility of required
• Current State Board of Pharmacy Registration Certificate as a Pharmacy Technician required by the State

Preferred Qualifications

• One to two year's experience as a Pharmacy Technician

Per Diem Requirement: Must be available to work Six (6) shifts per Six (6) week schedule; Three (3) must be on the Weekend (Saturday's or Sunday's).
