The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of pharmacy experience, with licenses: Texas Pharmacy Technician and BLS. Preference for PTCB certification.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in pharmacy or equivalent technician
• TSBP REG PHARMACY TECHNICIAN Upon Hire and BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire
• Preferred: PTCB CERT COMPND STERILE PREP TECHN Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

Responsibilities

• Performs job responsibilities in accordance with organizational and departmental policies.
• Coordinates daily workflow in assigned area and provides leadership to other technicians.
• Performs IV calculations and prepares IV admixtures using proper aseptic technique.
• Delivers medication on time and handles IV chemotherapy.
• Audits and signs out all controlled substances per guidelines and reports discrepancies.
• Assists with ordering, managing and monitoring drug inventory and maintains safety standards.
