Job summary

UC Irvine Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist in our busy pharmacy. The role includes data entry, filing, and involvement with purchasing and inventory control.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of full-time pharmacy tech experience, English communication skills, and a California license or intern registration; chemotherapy admixture experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year full-time relevant experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• California Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration License or Pharmacy Intern Registration Certificate.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
• 1+ year experience in admixing chemotherapy drugs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, document, and label drug products under supervisor.
• Perform data entry and filing related to the process; assist with drug purchasing and inventory.
• Participate in Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects and collect workload data.
