Job summary

The Pharmacy Technician at UCI Health will prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist, handling data entry and filing, and assisting with drug purchasing and inventory control.

You will participate in Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects and help collect data for workload measurements, contributing to safe, efficient medication preparation in a busy academic health system.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be able to demonstrate proper aseptic techniques.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Minimum one year full-time relevant experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• California Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration License or Pharmacy Intern Registration Certificate.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
• 1+ year experience in admixing chemotherapy drugs.

Responsibilities

• The Pharmacy Technician will prepare, package, document, and label drug products under the direct technical supervision of the Pharmacist.
• Performs all required data entry and filing associated with the process.
• Performs functions related to drug purchasing and inventory control procedures.
• Technician will participate in the Pharmacy Department Performance Improvement projects/programs and collect data for workload measurements as needed or required.
