Fairview Pharmacy Services has a great opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician 3 to join our Diabetes Care Services team servicing diabetic patients that are on Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems and Insulin Pumps.
This position is full-time, M-F, Day shift and provides a comprehensive benefits package including tuition assistance and health and wellbeing resources. It is mobile with a general pattern of one week remote followed by a week in the office.
The Pharmacy Technician Services Representative 3 is responsible for benefit investigation for both prescription and medical benefits, including prior authorizations.
Responsibilities/Job Descriptions
Complete intake process for Diabetes pharmacy patients including new patient enrollment, insurance verification, benefit investigation, prior authorizations, Medicare compliance and medication refill and delivery schedule.
Under the direction of the pharmacist, receive prescription/orders from patients, process manually or using the appropriate computer system and protocols in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with all legal, regulatory agency and Fairview requirements.
Coordinate ordering, delivery of medications, supplies and equipment to patients and clinical areas as requested.
Other responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to: back up phone coverage, data collection, reporting, process improvement and maintenance of patient education materials.
Qualifications
Required Experience
One year experience as a pharmacy technician or One year of healthcare experience.
Required License/Certification/Registration
Registered Technician with Minnesota Board of Pharmacy
Preferred (Not Required)
Pharmacy certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board is preferred. Other National Pharmacy Technician certification will also be accepted.
